3. Contacts and Social Graph
If a Host grants contacts permission, we may access the Host's contacts to help the Host select a person to invite, display contact photos or names, prevent duplicates, and improve relationship coordination features. We do not use the Host's contacts to market to those contacts. We do not automatically text a Host's contacts. The Host chooses the Recipient and sends the initial invitation through the Host's share sheet or selected channel.
A contact may become a Recipient only if the Host shares an Invitation with that person and the person opens the App Clip, website, or app. Linq Up will not begin SMS Coordination with a Recipient unless the Recipient provides a phone number and consents to SMS for the specific Plan.
4. SMS Consent, Opt-Outs, and Compliance Records
When a Recipient enters a phone number and consents to SMS, we record information needed to prove consent and manage opt-outs, including the phone number, invite ID, Plan details, consent disclosure shown, action taken, timestamp, IP address, user agent, SMS status, and opt-out status. These records help us comply with communications laws, carrier requirements, and audit requests.
SMS from Linq Up is limited to the specific Plan unless you separately consent to a broader message program. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
We do not share or sell mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or any consent records with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS message frequency: typically 2-6 messages per planning thread. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
If you reply STOP, we place the phone number on a suppression list and stop SMS messages to that number except for a permitted opt-out confirmation or legally required messages. We retain suppression list information so we do not message you again by mistake.
5. How We Use Information
- Provide the Service, including account creation, invite creation, App Clip rendering, SMS Coordination, in-app coordination, calendar availability matching, reminders, and support.
- Let Hosts create Invitations and let Recipients review, accept, decline, or suggest changes to a Plan.
- Send SMS, push, email, and in-app messages about a specific Plan, including scheduling options, updates, confirmations, reminders, opt-out confirmations, and HELP responses.
- Personalize and improve the Service, such as suggesting convenient times, activities, places, and contact reminders.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, harassment, spam, unauthorized access, security incidents, and violations of our Terms.
- Maintain consent, opt-out, audit, security, and legal records.
- Comply with laws, carrier requirements, app store rules, legal process, and enforceable government requests.
- Develop aggregated or de-identified analytics that do not reasonably identify you.
6. Calendar Data
If you connect a calendar, Linq Up uses calendar data to find availability, propose time slots, avoid conflicts, coordinate changes, and create or update calendar events if you authorize that feature. We aim to use the minimum calendar data necessary for scheduling. We do not sell calendar data. We do not use calendar data for third-party advertising. You can disconnect a calendar through app settings or the applicable calendar provider.
7. Location and Places
If you grant location permission or provide a location, Linq Up may use it to suggest nearby places, calculate travel or proximity estimates, and make Plans easier to coordinate. You can disable location permission through device settings. Some features may not work without location information.
8. AI and Automated Processing
Linq Up uses automated systems and AI-assisted workflows to draft messages, summarize preferences, suggest times and places, detect abuse, and coordinate Plans. We may process your messages, preferences, availability, and Plan details for these purposes. We do not use private contacts, calendar event details, SMS content, or invite details to train general-purpose AI models without explicit consent. We may use aggregated, de-identified, or safety-filtered data to improve reliability, abuse prevention, and product quality.
9. How We Disclose Information
We disclose personal information only as described below:
- Other users involved in a Plan: we disclose information needed to coordinate the Plan, such as names, responses, selected time, proposed place, and relevant preferences. We do not show more calendar detail than needed to coordinate unless a user chooses to share it.

Service providers may use personal information only to provide services to us or comply with law.
- Calendar and platform providers: if you connect Apple, Google, Outlook, or another provider, we exchange the information needed to authenticate and provide the calendar feature.
- Legal and safety: we may disclose information to comply with law, legal process, security obligations, carrier investigations, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers: we may disclose or transfer information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
- With your direction or consent: we may disclose information when you ask us to or consent to the disclosure.

10. Cookies, SDKs, and Analytics
We may use cookies, SDKs, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, measure performance, prevent fraud, improve reliability, and understand how the Service is used. We do not use these technologies to sell Recipient data or share SMS opt-in information for advertising. You may be able to limit certain tracking through browser, device, or app settings.
11. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, maintain security, and maintain suppression records. Retention periods vary by data type:
- Account data is retained while the account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion requests, unless longer retention is required or permitted by law.
- Invitation and Plan data is retained for the period needed to coordinate the Plan, support users, improve reliability, and handle disputes or safety issues.
- SMS consent, opt-out, delivery, and audit records may be retained for at least four years or longer if needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims or satisfy provider, carrier, or legal obligations.
- Suppression list records may be retained indefinitely, or as long as needed, to ensure we do not message a number that opted out.
- De-identified or aggregated data may be retained without time limit if it cannot reasonably identify a person.
12. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, logging, vendor review, and abuse monitoring. No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and devices.
